Annual Medical Assessments

Annual Medical Assessments

Patients typically engage medical services when they know or suspect there to be a problem. Invariably, this means that to some extent we are always playing catch-up with our bodies. (med)24’s founding philosophy is that your health should be more proactively planned and managed in a way that allows you to worry less and live more.

For this reason, one of the cornerstones of our care provision is our range of annual medical assessments, which form an integral part of our Essential, Comprehensive and Total Membership Healthcare Plans, but are also available on a pay as you go basis. These detailed check-ups examine everything from your blood pressure and BMI, to your ECG, blood and urine analysis, providing an in-depth appraisal of your current health, but more importantly, exposing any early stage signs of conditions that could develop into something more serious.

Detailed blood work is also part of all our medicals, with thorough evaluations of indicators of haematological, renal and hepatic health, as well as measures of cholesterol, thyroid, vitamin D and folate levels. And because we think holistically about your wellbeing – and know that specific problems often first manifest where you least expect them to – we also examine sleep quality, lifestyle behaviours, family history and more, to give you the most rounded view of your overall health possible. Most samples are analysed in-house to ensure you get your results back rapidly, and a member of our expert medical team will be on-hand to talk you through the findings, along with any other concerns you have.

From diabetes testing and spirometry to male- and female-specific cancer check-ups, your annual (med)24 check-up will give us the information to plan your next year of care, and give you the confidence that you’re fully aware of how your body is performing. As much as a physical assessment, it’s also a chance for you to have a proper conversation about your health with your doctor. Another reason why we believe these assessments are such an important part of our (med)24 Membership Healthcare Plans.
