Fully vaccinated adults (under the UK vaccination programme), returning to England from amber-list countries will no longer need to self-isolate.

You will have to prove you were vaccinated at least 14 days previously, using the NHS Covid Pass (on the NHS app) or an NHS Covid Pass letter.

Children under 18 will no longer have to self-isolate.

Children aged 10 and under will not have to take a test before departure for England.

If you are not fully vaccinated under the UK vaccination programme, you will have to quarantine on arrival and take both the day 2 and day 8 tests if returning from Amber and Red list countries.

It is your responsibility to understand the latest travel requirements for your individual countries by visiting,, or speaking directly to your airline provider.

You must take your Day 2 test on or before your 2nd full day in the UK.

If you arrive back to the UK on a Monday, your 2nd full day would be Wednesday.

• Swab on Day 0,1 or 2

If you get a positive result from your day 2 test, you and anyone in your household must quarantine for 10 days beginning the day after the test is taken and for the next 10 days after the test was taken (this means until day 13).
